Background and Mission
Background
The Science-Policy Interface unit is the central contact point for science-policy engagement, including scientific policy advice, at ETH Zurich.
Science-policy engagement refers to activities in which researchers support political decision-making with their scientific expertise.
The Science-Policy Interface supports policymakers who wish to collaborate with ETH researchers, as well as researchers seeking contacts with policymakers.
Mission
The Science-Policy Interface aims to bridge the gap between ETH researchers and political decision-makers in order to contribute to addressing crucial societal challenges. To achieve this, the Science-Policy Interface connects ETH researchers and political decision-makers at all federal levels as well as internationally and provides a range of services to support the collaboration between these stakeholders.
Activities
The activities of the Science-Policy Interface are divided into five strategic areas:
- Coordinate and encourage science-policy engagement
- Create networks between researchers and policymakers
- Offer capacity-building for researchers in science-policy engagement
- Facilitate the dialogue between researchers and policymakers
- Generate visibility for science-policy engagement
